Man stabs friend over N2,000 debt - Photo

The Edo state Police command has arrested a man identified as Oruma who allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old friend, Frederick Eze (pictured above), in the neck over a N2,000 debt.

Punch reports that Frederick, who was angry that Oruma had not paid his money, accosted him at the Oza area of the state & seized a property belonging to Frederick, who is an ice cream factory worker from Ebonyi state. A fight broke out between them and Oruma broke a bottle and stabbed Frederick in the neck.

Frederick lost conciousness after losing so much blood. He was rushed to a private hospital on a wheelbarrow after several cab drivers declined to take him.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Noble Uwoh, said, “He has been arrested. The two people in the matter are friends.” he said

A new born baby was found laying dead in a dustbin at Hilltop Gate adjacent St Peters Chapel UNN this morning July 30th. No one around the area saw who dropped the baby. Lagos LG Chairman picks TV presenter as 6th wife

The Chairman of the Ibeji-Lekki local government area in Lagos state, Hon Semiu Kemi Surakat has picked a TV presenter with the Lagos State Television, LTV, Kemi Fahm as his 6th wife, Encomium magazine reports.

Hon Surakat got married to the TV personality at a private court wedding which held on Thursday July 17th at the Ikeja marriage registry. This will be his sixth shot at marriage while this would be the second for Ms Kemi Fahm who is a single mother with two boys.

Mrs Kemi Fahm-Sukarat is the anchor of the LTV programme, Conference 57, which is dedicated to the activities of the 57 local government councils in the state. Reports say her husband has started showering her with gifts. He is said to have just moved her to a new apartment in Lekki and bought her a new car.

Orlando Bloom is such an agbaya...lol. The 37 year old actor has been filmed taking a swing at singer Justin Bieber, 20, early this morning Wednesday July 30th in Ibizi while out with friends.

According to TMZ, who obtained the video of the altercation, Justin and Orlando were in popular Cipriani Restaurant which was parked with other celebs including Diddy and Paris Hilton, when the confrontation happened.

"You don't see Orlando swing (in the video), but the eyewitnesses tell us that's exactly what happened. We're told Justin ducked the punch. That's where the video starts and you hear Justin scream, "What's up bitch?". We're told when Bieber left the crowd applauded." TMZ reports.

A Doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients dies from the virus

The Sierra Leonean doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients has also died. Dr Sheik Umar Khan (pictured above), who was hailed as a national hero for disregarding his own health and helping sick patients, died today July 29th from the disease after being diagnosed with the virus last week. He contacted the virus despite wearing protective gear when treating patients.

In an interview last month, the 39yr old doctor had expressed fears for his life because of his constant contact with Ebola patients.

"I am afraid for my life. Health workers are prone to the disease because we are the first port of call for somebody who is sickened by the disease. Even with the full protective clothing you put on, you are at risk" He told Reuters

His death comes days after a senior doctor at Liberia's largest hospital, Samuel Brisbane, died on Saturday at an Ebola treatment centre in Monrovia. 3 nurses working in the same Ebola treatment centre alongside Khan also died from the disease last week. Several other medics have been infected.

Disturbing footage of a young woman’s vicious beating has gone viral on Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo.

Pictures of the brutal attack, which reportedly occurred outside a karaoke television bar in China's south-eastern city of Yulin, Guangxi province, show the unidentified female being stripped and savagely kicked and had her hair pulled by four woman as stunned witnesses filmed the incident.

Did GEJ give Chibok parents N100million? There's new controversy

A new controversy is brewing in Chibok village, with parents of the abducted girls alleging that they have been shortchanged by Chibok community leaders who received N100million cash gift from the Presidency, on their behalf.

Channels TV reports

Although a presidential aide denied any such gift to Chibok parents, through their leaders, one parent, Mr Abdu Halidu, told the BBC that he got only N200, 000 from the money.

Now the parents of the missing girls are saying that the amount shared to them is unacceptable. According to Mr Halidu “I got only N200, 000 out of the said N100 million. Some of us got N300,000 and some less than that. Our leaders in Abuja are using the girls to enrich themselves and this is unacceptable.” Continue...

Man found dead head down inside a well in Lagos - Graphic Photo

Early morning Tuesday July 29th, a man was found dead head down inside a well (pictured above) with his slippers beside the well in a house at Akanyn street, Shibiri Rd, Ilemba in Ojo, Ajangbadi, Lagos.

Many residents of the house had fetched water from the well and even made use of the water before someone discovered there was a corpse inside it. When he was eventually pulled from the well, he was recognized as someone who lived around..a carpenter whose wife recently left him. Some people claimed to have seen him the previous day, very drunk. No one knew how he fell into the well.

A source told CFB that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ojo division and Ajangbadi police were contacted and they came to remove the corpse and took it away for fuurther investigation. See the exclusive graphic pic after the cut...

Boko Haram kills 8, bombs bridge in Yobe

8 people were killed and a major bridge destroyed after suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Monday July 28th launched an attack in Katarko town in Yobe State. Katarko is 22km South of Damaturu, the state capital and is said to be very near the dreaded Sambisa forest.

According to reports, the sect members arrived the village around 7.30pm in motorbikes and operated unhindered till 2.00am. The men had unsuccessful attacked a military base in the town before moving into a residential area. Continue...
