NJC Suspends Rivers Acting Chief Judge

The National Judicial. Council (NJC) has suspended the Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State, J‎ustice P. N. C. Agumagu.
A statement signed by NJC's Acting Director, Information M‎r. Soji Oye said the decision to suspend Agumagu was taken at an emergency meeting held ‎‎on the 26th March, 2014.
The council cited section ‎271 (1) of the constitution which gave the council the power to recommend a judge for appointment as Chief Judge of a state and said that at no time did the council recommend Agumagu for appointment as Chief Judge.
