The Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that can take Nigeria to the promise land.
At the PDP north central rally held in Minna, the Niger State capital, President Jonathan emphasised that the “PDP is the only political party that can deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians”.
The rally, attended by a large number of supporters in the zone, brought together many political leaders.
Speakers at the event noted that despite the internal crisis in the PDP, the party remained the party to beat in the 2015 general elections.
Governors and members of the National Assembly were among the party faithful who gathered in large numbers at the trade fair complex venue of the rally on Saturday.

President Jonathan reiterated that the rally was not to campaign for any aspirant.
A former PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Ali and senate President, Senator David Mark also assured the president of the support of the entire zone.
After the rally, the People Democratic Party Governors Forum meeting kicked off in Minna.
The Governors at the closed door meeting include Governors of Niger,Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, Abia, Jigawa, Cross River,Bayelsa, Kogi, Plateau,Gombe, Kastina States while the Governors of Sokoto, Adamawa and Delta States are represented by the deputy Governors.
