Humanist Assembly of Lagos Lecture

Do witches exist? What motivates belief in superstition? How is superstition driving fundamentalism? What are the benefits of critical thinking and benefits of doubt? How do you identify superstition and avoid being exploited? These are some of the issues we will be discussing/debating at first the public lecture of The Humanist Assembly of Lagos.

The Humanist Assembly of Lagos is a non-profit, neutral organization promoting freedom of thought and belief. We look to bring about a progressive society where being good, irrespective of race, tribe, with or without belief, becomes accepted as a way of life. We stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek rational ways of solving societal problems.
So come join us at this public lecture with distinguished speakers from the field of philosophy, medicine, religious studies and entertainment who will be discussing critical thinking, superstitions, freedom of thought, etc on Sunday 30th of August at the Lecture Hall, Unilag Guest House and Conference Centre, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos. Time is 12:00 noon. Guests will also have the opportunity to share their experiences.
