The only female doctor to survive Nigeria’s Ebola outbreak, Dr Ada Igonoh has given birth to a healthy baby girl in the United States of America (USA).
Dr Igonoh's daughter was born on November 3, 2015, at the Greater El-Monte Community Hospital in California. See pictures after cut...
She had been placed under surveillance since the baby was conceived to ensure a hitch-free birth.
He baby was certified Ebola-free upon delivery.
Dr Igonoh was working at the First Consultant Medical Centre (FCMC) in Obalende, Lagos when Nigeria’s index patient, Liberian Patrick Sawyer was admitted at the facility.
Another FCMC doctor, Stella Adadevoh lost her life to
the virus and is credited with containing the epidemic by preventing
Sawyer from leaving the hospital despite immense pressure to do so.
