Ekiti Traders in panic and agony as Oja-Oba Market is about to be Demolish

Following Governor Ayo Fayose public announcement about the demolition of the Erekesan market in Ado-Ekiti, around 2,000 traders rushed to meet the deadline.

The demolition of the popular market also known as Oja-Oba or King’s market is planned on November 8.
The market, located directly opposite the palace of the traditional ruler in Ado-Ekiti, will be replaced with a modern one.

PDP Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, Formally Joins APC

Former Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, the senator representing Abia Central senatorial district has officially defected from the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The senator who first joined the Senate in 2003 condemned the economic policies of the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, saying that they were shrouded in secrecy.

Locally Brewed Beer Kills 75 in Mozambique

Not less than Seventy five people have been reportedly killed in Mozambique following consumption of local beer. The Mozambican health authorities confirmed on Wednesday, November 4, that contamination resulted in the beer tragedy Chitima, Tete province, in the northwest of the country in January.



It was earlier speculated that the poisoning were intentional, however, the ministry’s disclosure disproves all speculation.

Photos: Port Harcourt Residents Dig Out Condemned Chickens by Nigerian Customs

Residence of Port Harcourt recently dug up tonnes of chicken condemned and buried by the Nigerian Customs at a trailer park at Ebubu in Eleme local government area of Rivers state. The people went to the pit with shovels, pans, basins and buckets, which they used to dig up the chickens and carry them to their homes.
On Friday, October 30, Customs officials had dumped and buried thousands of cartons of frozen poultry seized at the Onne Ports. The chickens, said to have been packed in six containers, were emptied and buried at the site.

Sen. Wamakko canvasses second term for Buhari

Former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko says President Buhari must be allowed to rule beyond 2019 so that he can address the numerous challenges facing Nigeria. According to Daily Trust, Wamakko canvassed for a second term for Buhari while speaking to Law undergraduates from the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto who paid him a visit at the National Assembly.

“To me, President Buhari must be allowed to rule beyond 2019 to address the numerous challenges bedeviling the country. Four years cannot be enough to address the rot done to the country in the last 30 years. We cannot expect miracle from the president in view of the enormous damage done to the country, he needs to be given opportunity to be around beyond 2019, “ he said

DSS raids Dasuki's home in Abuja, prevents him from traveling

According to a breaking news report, DSS officials are currently raiding the Abuja home of former National Security Officer, Sambo Dasuki, and preventing him from traveling. 

 

A federal high court had on Tuesday October 3rd ordered the Federal government to release the International Passport of Dasuki so he could proceed for a medical treatment abroad. Dasuki is standing trial for illegal possession of arms as well as money laundering. More details later...
